Abriendo caminos’, las jornadas de esclerosis múltiple y otra enfermedades neurodegenerativas, Aedem Ciudad Real tiene previsto exponer en el Hospital General Universitario de Ciudad Real (HGUCR) de cara a la próxima primavera el trabajo que José Luis Gutiérrez, profesor de escultura la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCLM) y afectado de Esclerosis Múltiple, está desarrollando en orfanatos de India, Nepal y Ecuador.
Director del grupo de investigación UCM ‘Arte al servicio de la sociedad’, estará en abril en Ciudad Real para hablar de su relación con la esclerosis múltiple, enfermedad que padece desde hace más de una década, y de los proyectos de cooperación al desarrollo que desde el año 2004 vienen llevándose a cabo bajo su responsabilidad. Unos trabajos que, bajo el epígrafe ‘Sonrisas de colores’, muestran la realidad de los huérfanos de estos tres países.
Por otro lado, según adelantó a La Tribuna el vicepresidente de Aedem Ciudad Real, Jesús Mora, está previsto que el centro hospitalario de la capital acoja un segundo proyecto fotográfico que se ha realizado en hasta doce países europeos sobre la esclerosis múltiple, una enfermedad en la que se destruye la mielina (la sustancia que recubre las neuronas) perdiendo los nervios la capacidad de conducir los impulsos eléctricos que transmiten los mensajes al cerebro y la médula espinal.
‘Under pressure’ (www.underpressureproject.eu) trata de mostrar cómo las distintas políticas sociosanitarias influyen en la calidad de vida de los pacientes con esclerosis múltiple. Y es que esta patología neurodegenerativa, que se revela como la segunda causa de discapacidad en adultos jóvenes después de los accidentes de tráfico (en uno de cada cuatro enfermos puede llegar a provocar parálisis severas), afecta a cada persona de una manera única, lo que refuerza la necesidad de que los tratamientos sean cada vez más personalizados.
