Udrive, a local start-up, is expanding its car-sharing services in the UAE by continually diversifying its vehicle fleet and increasing its availability for customers. The company’s goal is to support the Dubai 2040 Urban Plan’s aim of creating a 20-minute city by reducing the stress of travelling and improving connectivity for passengers across the Emirates. The pay-per-minute car-sharing vehicles are used for three to five trips a day, and Udrive has nearly 1,000 cars in its fleet in the UAE and has recently expanded into Saudi Arabia as well. With 380,000 registered users and 2 million trips since its launch in 2016, Udrive remains focused on satisfying its customer base by increasing the supply of vehicles. “Whether for health and safety reasons, or the cost benefits,” he continued, referring to the estimated 25% savings for customers compared to traditional driving costs, “these individuals fully recognise the value of Udrive’s service.”
