El pasado sábado 7 de febrero el Excmo. Sr. Consejero de Asuntos Sociales de la Comunidad de Madrid, Jesús Fermosel, presentó en el Centro de Esclerosis Múltiple ‘Alicia Koplowitz’ la primera ‘Guía de Orientación para la Valoración de la Discapacidad en Esclerosis Múltiple’, en cuya elaboración participó la Trabajadora Social de AEDEM-COCEMFE, Jana C. González Escobar.

 

El acto contó también con la presencia de la Directora General de Servicios Sociales, Carmen Pérez Anchuela, el Presidente de FAMMA-COCEMFE Madrid, Javier Font y  representantes de entidades dedicadas a la atención de personas afectadas de Esclerosis Múltiple, entre los que se encontraba nuestro Presidente Gerardo García Perales.

La elaboración de esta Guía resulta del consenso y trabajo realizado durante meses por profesionales de distintas ramas (Médicos Rehabilitadores, Psicólogos, Neuropsicólogos, Trabajadores Sociales y Fisioterapeutas) de asociaciones especializadas en la enfermedad como son AEDEM-COCEMFE, ADEMM, AEFEMHenares, ADEMCVillalba, AMDEM y FEMM, junto con la Consejería de Asuntos Sociales.

El documento realizado es una herramienta metodológica de gran interés y utilidad dirigida a todos los profesionales de los Centros Base encargados de los procesos de valoración de la discapacidad. En ella podrán encontrar la información más relevante en cuanto a aspectos médicos, psicológicos y cognitivos, así como Tablas de Medición para la evaluación de los mismos, que les hará perceptores de un conocimiento más especializado y específico sobre la enfermedad, garantizando la máxima objetividad en estos procedimientos.

Dado que los baremos técnicos del Real Decreto 1971/1999, de 23 de diciembre, de procedimiento para el reconocimiento, declaración y calificación del grado de discapacidad de carácter nacional e iguales para todas las Comunidades Autónomas, son inamovibles, el equipo técnico encargado del desarrollo de esta Guía ha logrado, en la medida de lo posible, ajustar los aspectos más significativos de la enfermedad a los baremos utilizados para dicha valoración. Un aspecto fundamental a destacar es la incorporación de uno de los síntomas más característicos de la Esclerosis Múltiple, la fatiga, que anteriormente no se evaluaba, dada su complejidad, y que podrá valorarse a partir de ahora. 

Desde AEDEM-COCEMFE deseamos, como bien mencionó Javier Font “extrapolar a otras comunidades autónomas esta publicación, al igual que a nivel estatal, ya que consideramos que es un instrumento necesario e importante para la valoración de la discapacidad”, a fin de favorecer la protección social y mejorar la calidad de vida de todas las personas afectadas de Esclerosis Múltiple.
