La deportista valenciana afectada de Esclerosis Múltiple, Raquel López, recibió el jueves 12 de febrero el premio de las becas «Persigue tus sueños» que reparte la Fundación GAES para fomentar los retos humanos que se proponen deportistas españoles de todas las edades.

 

La Fundación GAES repartirá 11.000 euros entre los ganadores de esta tercera edición del programa de patrocinio deportivo.

Los ganadores han sido Isidro Pulido, Raquel López, Sergio Paz, David López, Jaime Martínez y Jordi Arguisuelas, que han sido seleccionados entre las más de 70 candidaturas recibidas este año.

Raquel López, afectada de Esclerosis Múltiple, ha superado varios retos deportivos en los últimos años, como el ascenso al monte Ventoux o a la montaña de Montserrat, y ahora quiere completar el triatlón de Valencia en la modalidad olímpica: 1,5 kilómetros nadando, 40 km. en bici y 10 km. corriendo.

Cuando recogió el premio, Raquel dijo estas palabras: «La vida me ha enseñado que está llena de retos. El mío es superar la esclerosis múltiple a través de la actividad física y si con ello consigo que los demás afectados digan que sí que se puede luchar contra esta enfermedad, ya habré ganado«.
